A New Beginning

Lying there, blood pooling from bullet wounds, I felt an unbearable agony give way to serenity. My body seemed to fly backward, yet also toward an unknown light, symbolizing hope. As I lay there, drawn to this light, it felt like entering a realm of happiness, an end and a beginning.

But when I opened my eyes, expecting peace, I was met with a chilling sight: surgical tools and mechanical parts. Looking down, where my body should have been, there were only wires and chrome.
